Rank Nine Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Rank Nine (the “App”), provided by Ozan Bicakci (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information.
Summary
Rank Nine does not require an account. The App contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not automatically transmit gameplay data or personal information to us. Game progress and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Information stored on your device
To provide the game, Rank Nine stores local information such as your current saved run, game progress, career statistics and run history, daily challenge status, tutorial progress, discovered tactics, milestones and unlocks, and settings such as language, sound-effects, and reminder preferences.
This information is stored in the App’s iOS container. Rank Nine does not provide an account-based or cross-device cloud-sync service, and we cannot access this local information remotely. Apple may process device backups under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
Optional Local Run Data
The Local Run Data feature is off by default. If you turn it on, Rank Nine begins recording gameplay diagnostics with your next run. These records are used to help evaluate game balance and may include:
- a random identifier for the run and event dates and times;
- App version and build number;
- selected deck, difficulty, daily or endless status, run progress, and outcome;
- aggregate score, target, move, tactic, capture, piece, boss, and build information; and
- game-economy information such as gold, rewards, shop offers, inspections, rerolls, purchases, and sales.
Local Run Data does not include your name, email address, account identifier, device identifier, location, contacts, board positions, or move notation. The App keeps up to the 200 most recent local run records and excludes those records from device backup.
Turning Local Run Data off stops new records from being created; it does not delete records already on the device. You can delete existing records in Settings > Local Run Data > Delete Run Data. Deleting Local Run Data does not delete your saved run or career progress.
Nothing is uploaded automatically. If you select Prepare Export and then Share Run Data, the App creates a temporary JSON file and opens the iOS share sheet. The file is sent only to the destination you choose. That destination handles the file under its own privacy terms.
Local notifications
If you enable Daily Reminder, Rank Nine asks iOS for notification permission and schedules a repeating reminder for 11:00 a.m. in your local time zone. This is a local notification: Rank Nine does not register a push-notification token or contact a notification server. You can turn the reminder off in the App or change Rank Nine’s notification permission in iOS Settings.
Information you choose to share
Rank Nine can open the iOS share sheet for a run summary or Local Run Data export. Nothing is shared until you choose a destination and confirm the action.
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send, which may include your email address, the name shown by your email provider, your message, and attachments such as screenshots or a Local Run Data export. We use this information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, improve Rank Nine, protect the App, and comply with applicable law. Do not send information that is not needed for your request.
Support email is currently handled through Google’s Gmail service. Google processes email data under the Google Privacy Policy. We keep support communications only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes, then delete or anonymize them unless a longer period is required by law.
Third-party services
Rank Nine does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. Apple provides the App Store, iOS notification controls, and the system share sheet, and may process information independently under the Apple Privacy Policy. Any app or service you select from the share sheet processes what you send under its own terms.
We do not sell personal information and do not use information for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.
Your choices
You can:
- leave Local Run Data off;
- turn it off to stop future local recording;
- delete Local Run Data without affecting saved games or career progress;
- delete your current saved run, reset career statistics, or reset tutorial data from Settings;
- disable the Daily Reminder or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings; and
- delete the App to remove its local data from your device, subject to any device backup controlled by Apple.
To request access to or deletion of information you voluntarily sent to support, email tabiya.chess@gmail.com. Because Rank Nine has no accounts and we do not receive your on-device data, we may have no server-side record associated with you unless you contacted us.
Children’s privacy
Rank Nine does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for information we receive, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Local App data is protected by the security features of your device and iOS.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Rank Nine’s features or data practices change. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the effective date.
